The Weight of Time

May 11, 2025    Matt Willingham

This sermon, based on Genesis 18:9–15, explores how doubt can emerge not from rebellion, but from weariness, especially when God’s promises seem delayed or impossible. Sarah’s laughter reveals that doubt can be a defense against disappointment, and cynicism is often wounded hope. Yet, even in our uncertainty, God remains faithful. Faith isn’t about never questioning—it’s about declaring truth in the gap between what we see and what God says. The message reminds us that God works not because we believe perfectly, but because He always keeps His word.
