Stories
The Jacobsma Family
My family was first introduced to HCCNJ during a church service at Norwayne Field during the Mint Fest in North Judson. The energy felt during worship, the message from Pastor James, and the welcoming people during that service made us want to know more. Attending service at HCCNJ was a major turning point in my family's walk with God. HCCNJ's children's church is more than just playing games and coloring. My daughter's were (and still are) learning important scriptures of God's word and the lessons associated with them, all while having fun. Once I knew this, I knew this was the place for my family. We were immediately welcomed with open arms. We dove into ministry as soon as we could. Having children of our own and wanting our children to know the love and grace of God, we decided to jump into the youth ministry at HCCNJ. My family is now able to walk alongside other youth in our community and show them the love and compassion of God that some of them desperately need. We've grown with the youth in our community, became a pillar in their walk of faith, and created a family in the making, with all the glory going to God. (and the help of HCCNJ!) - Jeff Jacobsma
Ms. Kay Gudeman
My journey began with a life changing encounter with the lord on February 19, 1976, when I asked God to reveal himself to me. He touched my heart, and I repented of my sins and gave my life to the Lord Jesus Christ. Thus, began my walk with the lord. The desire for more of him led me to the Baptism of the Holy Spirit in April of 1976. I've experienced many ups and downs, losses, disappointments, and pain, but the Lord has been faithful to bring comfort, peace, deliverance, and healing as only he can. I'm ever so grateful for his mercy, grace, and love in my times of need. About 9 years ago, my husband (he went home to be with the lord 2 years ago), and I began looking for a new home church and visited Heartland Christian Center in North Judson. We both felt this was the place we needed to be to grow. Pastors James, Phil and Matt boldly deliver Biblically sound sermons and teachings rooted in God's word. The prayer times are definitely anointed and I can sense the presence of the Holy Spirit during these times. Heartland is my home church and I'm thankful for the Lord's leading to attend. Praise be unto him, who is King of kings and Lord of lords.
